How we verify artisans
Verification
Published Jul 31, 2026How we verify artisans
Every piece on Monarch Luxe is shipped by an artisan we have met, watched work, and followed up on. We do not take their word for it — we run four checks before any listing goes live.
The four checks
For any artisan applying to the network, we run each of these in turn.
- Craft — we visit the workshop (or join a live video walk-through) and watch a representative piece made start to finish. See how we source for the full supplier rubric.
- Originality — we cross-check the maker’s catalog against public registries and against pieces already in our catalog. Duplicates are rejected outright. More on what the catalog is for in the makers directory.
- Provenance — every shipping artisan keeps a signed chain of custody, attached to the order receipt. The notary flow lives on the FAQ.
- Addressable catalog — we require a published, reachable catalog (web shop, Instagram shop, or wholesale list) so buyers can verify the artisan outside of our network. Artisans who want to apply can read more at For artisans.
Why it matters
The four checks are not a marketing line — they are the only reason a buyer can ship to a stranger and not worry about the door. Authentication covers the receipt; the artisan story is upstream.
